Bruce Willis was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2023, and now his ex-wife, Demi Moore, is reflecting on what’s to come for the actor.
Bruce Willis retired from acting in 2022 after being diagnosed with aphasia, which was confirmed to have progressed to frontotemporal dementia last year.
Demi Moore is said to have been “preparing herself” for what’s to come in the future, as her former husband continues to battle his condition.
The Hollywood actress told InTouch: “When you let go of who they’ve been or who you think they [should be], or who even you would like them to be, you can then really stay in the present and take in the joy and the love that is present.”
According to a source, Bruce has “given Demi a new outlook on life”.
The unnamed insider continued: “She’s feeling extremely grateful and emotional. She’s been going over her life with him and is thankful for all the things they’ve been through.”
As Bruce, aged 69, experiences a decline in his ability to communicate and recognise people, a source claimed that seeing his struggles has brought some unexpected reflection.
“Seeing him go through his struggles has shown Demi how to be a fighter. It’s so bittersweet, but also inspiring,” said the source.
“She admires Bruce so much, and she’s preparing herself for their emotional goodbye.”
Earlier this month, Bruce was pictured for the first time in months as he cradled his granddaughter in a sweet photo shared by his daughter, Rumer Willis, to mark the tot’s first birthday.
Rumer penned a touching message alongside the photo, expressing her profound joy and love for her daughter Louella.
“This last year with you has been the best year of my life. Lou I have never known a love like yours,” she gushed.
The proud mother added: “You are the most delicious, most beautiful, smartest, funniest, sweetest girl I know. I can’t believe you choose me to be your mama.”
Continuing her heartfelt tribute, Rumer said, “You are a gift to everyone you meet and your smile is almost blinding it’s so magical.
“Your laugh is my favorite sound in the whole wide world. Your tiny kisses are the best thing to wake up to.
“I love you so deep in my bones my tiny daughter. I can’t wait to see what this next year brings!!”
