Taylor Swift had made a World World II vet’s wildest dreams come true. The day after Christmas, Taylor, along with her parents, surprised 96-year-old superfan Cyrus Porter at his Missouri home.
She treated him to a private concert, performing an acoustic version of her 1989 hit “Shake It Off.” Afterward, the singer spent time mingling with Cyrus’ relatives and explored his World War II memorabilia during an unforgettable visit.
The superstar walked through the door, greeted the family with a Merry Christmas, and gave the kids high-fives. Turning to Mr. Porter, she said, “My dad sent me a video of you and you said that you wanted to see a concert. I don’t really know when we’re going on tour next, so I figured I’d do one here and we can do some requests.”
The appearance held a special significance for the pop star, who came with her parents, as she shared that her own grandfather is also a Second World War veteran.
Family member Christ Porter uploaded the video and felt grateful for Swift’s act, talking about her “integrity and character,” highlighting how she provided this war veteran and his family with a Christmas day they will always remember. The video quickly went viral on social media at that time. Check out this heart-warming moment in this video below:
